A Sacred Redevelopment
Every congregation goes through various seasons that require evaluation, reflection, and discernment about what's the best direction for our ministry. Should we build a new sanctuary, support a new ministry, close our doors, restructure our existing programs, come up with a strategic plan, and/or any various scenario. Often various members bring different understandings and experiences that influence how they would like the church to approach a challenge. One of those influences unique to the church setting is what kind of Christian Ethics motivates individuals and the community at large. Exploring moral orientation can be helpful for a community of believers as the grapple with the ultimate question, "How's God calling us to be Christ to the world?"
The conversation will be lead by David De Block Wells. David is currently a graduate student at Seattle University pursing a Masters in Transformational Leadership. He is the current Treasurer for Lutheran Campus Ministry at the University of Washington. He has also worked with Kathy Fisher as co-coordinator of May Youth Weekends at Holden Village and we chaperoned our National Youth Gathering Group to Detroit. Previously he was the Coordinator of Intergenerational Ministries from 2012-2017 at Central Lutheran Church in Seattle.
